This mini review summarizes the potential applications of phloroglucinol derivatives in various fields. Different groups of scientists have explored various derivatives of phloroglucinol for a wide range of applications. The review focuses on the synthesis, structural, medicinal, catalytic, and enzyme inhibitory importance of phloroglucinol Schiff bases and their metal complexes.
Much work has been reported on derivatives of phloroglucinol due to their potential applications in different fields. Various derivatives of phloroglucinol have been explored by different groups of scientists for a wide variety of applications. This mini review covers the synthesis of mono, di and tri-formylated phloroglucinols, their Schiff bases and respective metal complexes and applications. The aim to write this mini review is to report the structurally, medicinally, catalytically, and enzyme inhibitory importance of phloroglucinol Schiff bases and their metal complexes.
