A simple pyridine based fluorescent chemosensor for selective detection of copper ion

The probe R1 shows selective recognition for Cu2+ over other metal ions and exhibits prominent colorimetric performance under daylight. A paper strip pre-stained with R1 solution is also fabricated and it shows excellent sensing ability with the naked eye for Cu2+, with a detection limit as low as 2.74 x 10(-7) M.

A novel colorimetric and turn-on fluorescent sensor for selective detection of Cu2+
