Facile synthesis of CaO:Eu3+ and comparative study on the luminescence properties of CaO:Eu3+ and CaCO3:Eu3+

Qianran Zhao et al.

Summary: The CaO:Eu3+ phosphors prepared by calcination of CaCO3:Eu3+ nanoparticles exhibit advantages in terms of phase purity, crystallinity, particle size, and luminescence properties compared to those obtained by traditional high temperature solid-phase methods. The study also reveals that CaO:0.02Eu(3+) has a stronger Eu-O charge transfer band in the excitation spectrum, making it more suitable for deep ultraviolet excitation. Overall, the luminescent properties and local structure of CaO:xEu(3+) phosphors were investigated in detail.

Precisely control the ultraviolet to blue light conversion for plant growth: Rigid crystal structure, lattice substitution and flux effect in the Ca1.1Sr0.9SiO4:Ce3+, Li+ phosphor

Yue Chen et al.

Summary: A series of Ce3+ -doped Ca1.1Sr0.9SiO4-based phosphors have been developed for precise tuning of UV to blue light conversion in agriculture. The addition of MX2 flux enhances luminescence efficiency and tunes photoluminescence (PL) wavelength and photoluminescent excitation (PLE) peaks. Doping with Al in Si site shifts excitation and emission peaks to longer wavelengths and increases luminescence intensity. Ca1.1Sr0.9SiO4 has the highest rigidity and the crystal structure distortions induced by [(Si/Al)O-4] tetrahedron contribute to the tunable blue emission of the phosphors.

High-Pressure Photoluminescence Properties of Cr3+-Doped LaGaO3 Perovskites Modulated by Pressure-Induced Phase Transition

Hansen Hua et al.

Summary: The photoluminescence properties of Cr3+-doped LaGaO3 perovskites were studied under high pressure, revealing a redshift of the R-line due to a decrease in Racah parameters B and C. With increasing pressure, the N-line luminescence becomes stronger relative to the R-line and can be used to monitor phase transition pressure. The decreased tilt angle of the GaO6 octahedral unit under high pressure enhances the superexchange interaction between Cr3+ ions.
