One-pot synthesis of CrαMnβCeTiOx mixed oxides as NH3-SCR catalysts with enhanced low-temperature catalytic activity and sulfur resistance

Wuyuan Liu et al.

Summary: A series of Cr alpha Mn beta CeTiOx catalysts were prepared using one-pot precipitation method and evaluated for the selective catalytic reduction of NO with ammonia. Among the catalysts prepared, the Cr0.006Mn0.05CeTiOx catalyst exhibited the highest low-temperature activity and widest activity window, as well as outstanding sulfur resistance. The amorphous catalyst had a larger specific surface area, high ammonia adsorption, and strong acidity, resulting in improved catalytic activity. The synergetic effect of Cr and Mn inhibited the accumulation of hydrogen sulfate or sulfate considerably.

Unusual positive effect of SO2 on Mn-Ce mixed-oxide catalyst for the SCR reaction of NOx with NH3

JiaYu Chen et al.

Summary: The high-performance denitration catalyst based on Mn-Ce mixed-oxide demonstrated outstanding low-temperature activity and excellent SO2 tolerance, with abundant active sites and a porous structure. The introduction of SO2 enhanced catalytic activity and suppressed unwanted ammonia oxidation. The reaction pathway on the mixed oxide was confirmed to be the L-H mechanism based on in situ DRIFTS.

Gang Li et al.

Summary: A series of TiO2-Al2O3 composites were synthesized and used as supports for MnCeOx catalysts, with MnCeOx/TiO2-Al2O3 showing higher activity and better tolerance. This is attributed to higher concentrations of Mn4+ and chemisorbed oxygen species, stronger reducibility, and larger adsorption capacity.
