Learning Compact Multirepresentation Feature Descriptor for Finger-Vein Recognition

Shuyi Li et al.

Summary: The proposed novel compact multi-representation feature descriptor for finger-vein recognition combines visual and semantic consistency. By forming two-view representations and jointly learning a feature transformation, it maps informative vein features into discriminative binary codes. The method aims to minimize quantization error and ensure compact multi-representation combined projection features based on visual and semantic consistency.

A Mutually Attentive Co-Training Framework for Semi-Supervised Recognition

Shaobo Min et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel Mutually Attentive Co-training Framework (MACF) that effectively alleviates the negative impacts of incorrect labels on model retraining by exploring deep model disagreements. MACF trains two symmetrical sub-networks connected by attention modules to reduce noisy gradients from incorrect labels and improve pseudo labels. The experiments show that MACF is more robust to noisy labels than previous methods on various benchmarks.

Multi-View 3D Shape Recognition via Correspondence-Aware Deep Learning

Yong Xu et al.

Summary: In recent years, multi-view learning has become a promising approach for 3D shape recognition by identifying shapes based on 2D views from different angles. This paper proposes a correspondence-aware representation (CAR) module that finds potential intra-view and cross-view correspondences through kNN search in semantic space and aggregates shape features via learned transforms. Incorporating the CAR module into a ResNet-18 backbone, an effective deep model called CAR-Net is introduced for 3D shape classification and retrieval, demonstrating the effectiveness and excellent performance of the CAR module.
