Sustainable electromagnetic shielding graphene/nanocellulose thin films with excellent joule heating and mechanical properties via in-situ mechanical exfoliation and crosslinking with cations

Summary: A sustainable graphene/nanocellulose electromagnetic shielding composite film was fabricated by inducing graphite exfoliation with nanocellulose. The film's properties were enhanced by cation crosslinking, which improved electrical conductivity, electromagnetic shielding effectiveness, and mechanical strength. The presence of metal cations also enhanced electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness through cation-pi interactions with graphene. The film cross-linked with Cu2+ cations exhibited a tensile strength of 64.3 MPa, elongation at break of 17.1%, electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of 30.7 dB, and a conductivity of 3172 S/m at 40 μm thickness.

Construction of unique conductive networks in carbon nanotubes/polymer composites via poly(?-caprolactone) inducing partial aggregation of carbon nanotubes for microwave shielding enhancement

Summary: In this study, a unique conductive network consisting of individual carbon nanotubes (CNT) and CNT clusters induced by poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL) is constructed in CNTs filled CPCs. The effect of different polymer matrices (isotactic polypropylene, polystyrene, and polylactic acid) on the conductive network is evaluated, and the electrical conductivity and microwave shielding properties are compared. The study also discusses the influence of CNTs and PCL loadings on the formation of CNT clusters. The results show that the CNT/CNT-cluster conductive network formed in CNT/PCL/PLA composites exhibits excellent performance in improving electrical conductivity and microwave shielding.

Facile Fabrication of PBS/CNTs Nanocomposite Foam for Electromagnetic Interference Shielding
