Spectrum Allocation With Adaptive Sub-Band Bandwidth for Terahertz Communication Systems

Akram Shafie et al.

Summary: In this study, spectrum allocation for terahertz band communication systems is explored, taking into account the unique characteristics of THz channels. By dividing the spectrum of interest into sub-bands with unequal bandwidths and investigating the impact of sub-band assignment on multi-connectivity enabled systems, higher throughput can be achieved by enabling and optimizing adaptive sub-band bandwidth. The proposed sub-band assignment strategy outperforms existing strategies, particularly when selecting spectrum with the lowest average molecular absorption coefficient.

Distance-Adaptive Absorption Peak Modulation (DA-APM) for Terahertz Covert Communications

Weijun Gao et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a novel approach for THz covert communications by dynamically modulating signals to enhance covertness and reduce eavesdroppable distance. An optimization framework is proposed to minimize the eavesdroppable distance by controlling carrier frequencies, power allocation, and rate distribution. Extensive numerical results show a 60% reduction in eavesdroppable distance compared to random spectrum selection methods, significantly enhancing the covertness of THz wireless transmission.

Millimeter Wave and Sub-Terahertz Spatial Statistical Channel Model for an Indoor Office Building

Shihao Ju et al.

Summary: This study presents an indoor 3-D spatial statistical channel model for mmWave and sub-THz frequencies based on extensive radio propagation measurements at 28 and 140 GHz. The resulting channel statistics show that the number of time clusters follows a Poisson distribution and the number of subpaths within each cluster follows a composite exponential distribution. A unified indoor statistical channel model for mmWave and sub-Terahertz frequencies is proposed, and a corresponding indoor channel simulator is developed for future air-interface, beamforming, and transceiver designs in 6G and beyond.

Uplink Multi-User Beamforming on Single RF Chain mmWave WLANs

Keerthi Priya Dasala et al.

Summary: In this paper, we propose Uplink Multi-user Beamforming on single RF chain AP (UMBRA), a new framework for supporting multistream multi-user uplink transmissions via a single RF chain. By designing multi-user overlayed constellations and receiver mechanisms, we enable concurrent time-triggered uplink multi-user transmissions on a single RF chain AP. Experimental results show that UMBRA achieves over 1.45 times improvement in aggregate rate compared to single-user transmissions.
