Uniform Demagnetization Diagnosis for Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Linear Motor Using a Sliding-Mode Velocity Controller and an ALN-MRAS Flux Observer

Jiwen Zhao et al.

Summary: In this article, a novel double closed-loop control method with an adaptive linear neuron (ALN) model reference adaptive system (MRAS) flux linkage observer is proposed for the demagnetization fault diagnosis and degree estimation of permanent-magnet synchronous linear motors in linear motion applications. The study introduces sliding-mode control (SMC) to design the velocity loop and combines it with the MRAS flux observer for modification using the ALN algorithm. Finite element models of different demagnetization faults are established, and a demagnetization fault diagnosis algorithm is introduced with an SMC-ALN-MRAS flux observer. Comparative experiments on a prototype motor experimental platform validate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Dongdong Chen et al.

Summary: This article proposes an algorithm to correct the field orientation inaccuracy caused by resolver periodic error and rotor time constant variation. The algorithm compensates the periodic error by minimizing the cross-product of fundamental and harmonic current vectors, and identifies the rotor time constant using a reactive-power based model reference adaptive system. The feasibility of the algorithm is verified through simulations and experiments.

Low-Complexity Deadbeat Model Predictive Current Control for Open-Winding PMSM Drive With Zero-Sequence Current Suppression

Mahmoud S. R. Saeed et al.

Summary: The application of a new low-complexity model predictive current control (MPCC) eliminates the online enumeration process and cost function evaluation, improving efficiency for open-winding permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drive systems. By utilizing predefined optimization criteria based on deadbeat principles, the proposed control scheme achieves optimal voltage vector selection with reduced computational complexity compared to conventional FCS-MPCC. The scheme also demonstrates fast dynamic response, low output current/torque ripple, and zero-sequence current suppression, presenting a competitive alternative to existing MPCC schemes.
