Analysis of Venusian Wrinkle Ridge Morphometry Using Stereo-Derived Topography: A Case Study From Southern Eistla Regio

Summary: This study presents an analysis of wrinkle ridges in Southern Eistla Regio, Venus using stereo-derived topography. The results show that the wrinkle ridges have consistent widths and heights, with non-symmetric vergence to the southeast. Some of the ridges exhibit quasi-symmetry and multiple peaks along the backslope, possibly indicating secondary backthrust faults. Fault geometry modeling reveals the dip, depth, slip, and planar geometry of the ridges. The distribution and spacing of the ridges suggest a relationship between wrinkle ridge deformation and lithospheric properties, with mantle dynamics playing a significant role.

Day-night cloud asymmetry prevents early oceans on Venus but not on Earth
