Is there an optimal number of oocytes retrieved at which live birth rates or cumulative live birth rates per aspiration are maximized after ART? A systematic review

Yin Jun Law et al.

Summary: This systematic review suggests that the optimal number of oocytes for maximizing fresh live birth rate is between 12 and 18 oocytes. However, cumulative live birth rate continues to increase with the number of oocytes retrieved.

Reproductive Outcomes After Breast Cancer in Women With vs Without Fertility Preservation

Anna Marklund et al.

Summary: This study found that fertility preservation at the time of breast cancer diagnosis in women was associated with a significantly higher rate of postdiagnosis live births and assisted reproduction treatments, without any negative impact on overall survival. It highlights the importance of fertility preservation in reproductive counseling for women diagnosed with breast cancer at a young age.

Transplantation of cryopreserved ovarian tissue in a series of 285 women: a review of five leading European centers

Marie-Madeleine Dolmans et al.

Summary: The feasibility of freezing and thawing ovarian tissue is well-documented, but ovarian tissue transplantation is progressing at a slower pace with limited clinical experience. Results from five European centers show a low risk of relapse with ovarian tissue reimplantation and successful recovery of endocrine function in most patients, although in vitro fertilization efficacy needs improvement. Chemotherapy before ovarian tissue cryopreservation does not significantly affect success rates. Further research is needed to optimize the approach for ovarian tissue transplantation.

Summary: Our study demonstrates that the tumor-inducing potential of BV-173 and RCH-ACV leukemic cells xenografted to SCID mouse peritoneum varies between cell lines, depending on cell number, type, status, and cytogenetic disease profile when ovarian tissue is harvested.

Summary: This study evaluated the outcomes of frozen oocytes or embryos cryopreserved after controlled ovarian stimulation or in vitro maturation for female cancer patients who underwent fertility preservation prior to gonadotoxic therapy. Preliminary results show that different techniques can be used in these patients, leading to live births.
