The management of breast cancers in India needs greater emphasis on awareness, early detection, standard pathologic testing, and cost-effective solutions. With standardized management, outcomes similar to those of developed countries can be expected. Additionally, clinical trials aimed at a more diverse population in LMICs like India should be undertaken.
The management of breast cancers continues to evolve in India amid the increasing burden of the disease. Greater emphasis on awareness and early detection is necessary to reduce the burden of mortality. Emphasis should also be placed on standardizing pathologic testing and reporting so that patients may obtain appropriate treatment. Standardization of surgical, radiation, and oncologic care using costeffective solutions should also be investigated. With standardized management, outcomes like those of developed countries can be expected. Finally, clinical trials geared towards a more diverse population in different LMICs like India should be undertaken.
