Experimental analysis to study the effect of perforated louvered strip-coiled spring insert on heat transfer performance in a double pipe heat exchanger

Numerical analysis of wire coil inserted corrugated tube for laminar flow

Summary: Laminar flow refers to the organized flow of fluid particles along a specific path. Heat transfer performance is lower in laminar flow for heat exchange devices. Providing corrugation on the heat exchange surface is a technique for enhancing heat transfer. The current research focuses on numerical analysis of thermal hydraulic performance for pipes with coil-wire inserts, and finds that a wire coil diameter of 0.5 mm provides the best thermo-hydraulic performance.
