New data on protonation and hydration of perovskite-type layered oxide KCa2Nb3O10

Liliia V. Yafarova et al.

Summary: The protonation and hydration processes of layered perovskite-like oxide KCa2Nb3O10 during reaction with nitric acid solutions were studied. It was found that treatment with water leads to partial protonation, while higher exchange rates can be achieved with moderate acid concentrations and varying reaction times. Complete protonation requires a minimum 3 M acid concentration and 24 hours of reaction time.

Facile layer-by-layer self-assembly of 2D perovskite niobate and layered double hydroxide nanosheets for enhanced photocatalytic oxygen generation

Botong Zheng et al.

Summary: The study successfully prepared a hetero-layered composite photocatalyst through self-assembly method, which showed enhanced photo catalytic O-2-generation activity. The layer-by-layer stacking of Zn/Cr-LDH and HPb2Nb3O10 nanosheets facilitated rapid migration of photo-induced charge carriers and efficient separation of carriers. This work expanded the applications of AB(2)Nb(3)O(10)-based materials in photocatalytic energy conversion, demonstrating the promising strategy of constructing composites based on electrostatic self-assembly of complementary 2D materials.

1H NMR Study of the HCa2Nb3O10 Photocatalyst with Different Hydration Levels

Marina G. Shelyapina et al.

Summary: The study investigates the proton localization and dynamics in the HCa2Nb3O10·yH2O photocatalyst with different hydration levels using NMR techniques. It reveals the presence of different proton containing species in the interlayer slab depending on the hydration level of the layered perovskite-like oxides.
