Optimal Sum Rate-Fairness Tradeoff for MIMO Downlink Communications Employing Successive Zero Forcing Dirty Paper Coding

Hsiao-Feng Lu

Summary: This letter introduces new power allocation schemes for MIMO downlink communications, considering both sum-rate and fairness. By using a revised fairness measure, a comprehensive tradeoff between sum-rate and fairness is characterized, and a stochastic power allocation scheme is presented to achieve this tradeoff. An explicit rule for selecting operating sum-rate is proposed to put the optimal tradeoff into practical use. Simulation results demonstrate that the new scheme can achieve higher sum-rate and better fairness simultaneously.

Robust Service Provisioning With Service Function Chain Requirements in Mobile Edge Computing

Jing Li et al.

Summary: With the introduction of Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technology, more mobile users are utilizing virtual network services in Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) networks. The challenge of allocating resources in MEC to maximize network service provider profit while meeting user service request demands is addressed in this study. The proposed near-optimal approximation algorithm for the robust service function chain placement (RSFCP) problem is evaluated analytically and empirically, showing promising results compared to existing baseline algorithms.
