A promising method to recover spent V2O5-WO3/TiO2 catalyst: treatment by vanadium-titanium magnetite sintering process

Hong-ming Long et al.

Summary: Research has shown that adding spent SCR catalysts can enhance sintering granulation and green feed permeability, leading to increased productivity and flame front speed. However, exceeding a certain proportion of spent SCR catalysts may result in a decrease in product quality indexes, attributed to the rise in perovskite content in the finished sinter.

Volatile organic compounds (VOC) emissions control in iron ore sintering process: Recent progress and future development

Yifan Wang et al.

Summary: Iron ore sintering, as an energy-intensive industry, contributes to significant emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) due to its reliance on fossil fuels. This article discusses the mechanisms of VOC emissions during sintering process and emphasizes the need for researchers and policy makers to address the risks of atmospheric pollution. It also explores feasible pathways to control VOCs, focusing on the development of perovskite-type catalysts. The challenges in terms of policy regulation, financial investment, and material research are highlighted.

The poisoning effect of sintering dust on V2O5-WO3/TiO2catalyst for NOxremoval in iron ore sintering flue gas

Li-xin Qian et al.

Summary: In this study, the poisoning effects of K(2)SO(4) and CaSO(4) on VWTi catalyst in the removal of NO(x) from iron ore sintering flue gas were investigated. The results showed that the SCR activity decreased with increasing concentrations of the doped poisoning precursors, which could be attributed to the decreased reducibility of vanadium species and lower content of surface chemisorbed oxygen. Characterization of the poisoned catalysts revealed migration of V 2p(3/2) towards lower binding energy, reduced NH(3) desorption, and elimination of V=O stretching vibration bond.

Chuan He et al.

Summary: This study focuses on utilizing cement as a binder for harmless treatment of hazardous substances in spent commercial SCR catalysts. The experimental results demonstrate that the cement effectively immobilizes hazardous substances in the spent catalysts, resulting in significantly reduced leaching concentrations that meet national standards. Active silicate sand hydroxyl compounds play a crucial role in immobilizing hazardous substances in the spent SCR catalysts.

Recycling of Waste V2O5-WO3/TiO2 Catalysts in the Iron Ore Sintering Process Via a Preballing Approach

Lixin Qian et al.

Summary: The extensive use of selective catalytic reduction denitrogenation technology results in the generation of hazardous waste vanadium-tungsten-titanium catalysts. A new technology for recycling these waste catalysts in steelworks involves adding them to the iron ore sintering process to prepare titanium-bearing sinter for blast furnace hearth protection. Research found that adding waste catalysts had no negative impact on sinter quality indexes, and preballing the waste catalyst with magnetite improved permeability and sintering indexes. This approach shows promise for the utilization of waste catalysts.
