Numerical investigations on thermal performance and flame stability of hydrogen-fueled micro tube combustor with injector for thermophotovoltaic applications

Wei Zuo et al.

Summary: This study compares the thermal performance and flame stability of hydrogen-fueled micro tube combustors with backward facing step and with injector. The effects of diameter ratio on thermal performance and flame stability are analyzed and discussed. The results show that decreasing the diameter ratio can improve fluid and heat circulation, but it is not helpful for flame stabilization. However, the injector can enhance the thermal performance and improve flame stability under lower hydrogen/air equivalence ratio.
