CO/CO2 hydrogenation for the production of lighter hydrocarbons over SAPO-34 modified hybrid FTS catalysts

Hyun Dong Kim et al.

Summary: In this study, a hybrid FTS catalyst was designed by mixing different catalysts for the compact design of the GTL-FPSO process. The addition of SAPO-34 to the Co/γ-alumina catalyst resulted in the production of lighter fuel. Additionally, the CO2/(CO + CO2) ratio over the Co/SAPO-34 catalyst was found to have an optimum value of around 0.25, leading to the highest C5+ selectivities and carbon conversion, and the lowest methane selectivity.

Revealing the Synergistic Deactivation Mechanism of Hydrothermal Aging and SO2 Poisoning on Cu/SSZ-13 under SCR Condition

Yani Zhang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the synergistic deactivation mechanism of hydrothermal aging and SO2 poisoning on Cu/SSZ-13 under SCR condition. Hydrothermal aging induces more severe degradation of SCR performance, and the presence of SO2 during hydrothermal aging causes further worse SCR performance. Hydrothermal aging damages Si-OH-Al sites and induces the formation of CuO/CuAlOx species, while SO2 poisoning promotes the transformation of ZCuOH to Z(2)Cu.

Cu-Co mixed oxide catalysts for the total oxidation of toluene and propane

Weidong Zhang et al.

Summary: Cu-Co mixed oxides were found to exhibit good catalytic performance in the oxidation of toluene, with Cu0.2Co showing the best performance. However, in propane oxidation, the activity of the catalysts decreased as the copper content increased due to the low intrinsic activity of CuO. Various factors affecting the oxidation reactions were studied, including the presence of CO2, water vapor and NO.

One-pot hydrothermal synthesis of dual metal incorporated CuCe-SAPO-34 zeolite for enhancing ammonia selective catalytic reduction

Xiaoming Zhou et al.

Summary: The CuCe_x-SAPO-34 catalysts with dual-metal incorporation exhibited good catalytic activity in the NH3 selective catalytic reduction reaction, with the 0.05CuCe0.02-SAPO-34 catalyst achieving a NO conversion rate of over 80%. Physicochemical analysis revealed that dual-metal incorporation significantly enhanced the surface acidity and the amount of isolated Cu2+ on the catalysts, contributing to their improved performance in the NH3-SCR reaction.

Insight into the activity and SO2 tolerance of hierarchically ordered MnFe1-δCoδOx ternary oxides for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3

Yonglong Li et al.

Summary: In this study, Co-doped MnFeOx ternary mixed oxides with hierarchically ordered structure exhibited enhanced low-temperature activity, broadened temperature window, improved water resistance, and enhanced SO2 and soot tolerance for NH3-SCR of NOx. The enhanced performance was attributed to the presence of active oxygen species, higher content of Mn4+, Fe3+, and Co3+, and improved surface acidity, which facilitated the adsorption and activation of NO and NH3, making it a promising candidate for low-temperature deNOx application.

Effects of hydrothermal aging on the sulfur poisoning of a Cu-SSZ-13 SCR catalyst

Yuanzhou Xi et al.

Summary: Cu-SSZ-13 catalysts are commonly used for NOx reduction in diesel aftertreatment, with hydrothermal aging and sulfur poisoning affecting their reactivity and resistance. Aging leads to decreased SCR reactivity with constant activation energy, while sulfur poisoning at lower temperatures results in lower reactivity. The catalyst becomes more resistant to sulfur poisoning with longer aging duration prior to sulfation, mainly due to the conversion of ZCuOH to Z(2)Cu.

Summary: In this study, hierarchical Cu-SSZ-13 zeolite containing both small micropores and mesopores was successfully prepared, exhibiting higher low-temperature activity and superior hydrothermal, water, and sulfur resistance. The hierarchical structure of Cu-SSZ-13-Meso was found to facilitate the diffusion or decomposition of sulfate species at low reaction temperature and increase its low-temperature activity.

Controlled synthesis of Cu-based SAPO-18/34 intergrowth zeolites for selective catalytic reduction of NOx by ammonia

Shoute Zhang et al.

Summary: SAPO-18/34 zeolites with higher acid site strength facilitate the generation of isolated copper ions and suppress CuOx formation, leading to higher NH3-SCR activity. Both E-R and L-H reaction mechanisms are involved in Cu-based SAPO-18 and SAPO-18/34 zeolites, with L-H mechanism dominating the NH3-SCR reaction. Cu-SAPO-34 only follows the L-H mechanism.
