Oxygen Carrier Aided Combustion in Fluidized Bed Boilers in Sweden-Review and Future Outlook with Respect to Affordable Bed Materials

Felicia Storner et al.

Summary: Oxygen carriers, such as metal oxide particles, have the potential to improve fuel conversion efficiency and reduce emissions in fluidized bed combustion, and are an effective technology for separating CO2. Sweden has successfully utilized low-cost materials from metallurgical industries for biomass and waste conversion in fluidized bed boilers, showing that this approach is technically feasible.
