Adjustment of operation temperature window of Mn-Ce oxide catalyst for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3

Yang Geng et al.

Summary: The introduction of tungsten as a promoter enhanced the catalytic activity of Mn-Ce oxide catalyst for NH3-SCR, increasing the NOx conversion above 150 degrees C while decreasing N2O production. Doped tungsten inhibited charge imbalance and reducibility, leading to higher NOx conversion above 150 degrees C over Mn3CeW0.3Ox compared to Mn3CeOx. Kinetic study showed that nu(SCR) over Mn(3)CeW(0.3)O(x) was higher than over Mn3CeOx, consistent with the SCR activity.

Insight into the activity and SO2 tolerance of hierarchically ordered MnFe1-δCoδOx ternary oxides for low-temperature selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3

Yonglong Li et al.

Summary: In this study, Co-doped MnFeOx ternary mixed oxides with hierarchically ordered structure exhibited enhanced low-temperature activity, broadened temperature window, improved water resistance, and enhanced SO2 and soot tolerance for NH3-SCR of NOx. The enhanced performance was attributed to the presence of active oxygen species, higher content of Mn4+, Fe3+, and Co3+, and improved surface acidity, which facilitated the adsorption and activation of NO and NH3, making it a promising candidate for low-temperature deNOx application.

Activating low-temperature NH3-SCR catalyst by breaking the strong interface between acid and redox sites: A case of model Ce2(SO4)3-CeO2 study

Jiawei Ji et al.

Summary: The study investigates the impact of acid-redox interaction on NH3-SCR performance using three different types of Ce-2(SO4)(3)-CeO2 model catalysts. It is found that the electron-withdrawing effect from sulfate significantly disturbs the redox property, while the introduction of Ce-2(SO4)(3) retards oxygen vacancy formation over CeO2. The weakened acid-redox interaction changes the nature of surface NOx species and promotes surface reaction via Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism, ultimately affecting the overall NH3-SCR performance.

Simple strategy for the construction of oxygen vacancies on α-MnO2 catalyst to improve toluene catalytic oxidation

Lingzhu Chen et al.

Summary: A strategy for large-scale production of high-activity alpha-MnO2 catalysts in VOCs oxidation is crucial. By adjusting the precipitation temperature, construction of oxygen vacancies on alpha-MnO2 has been achieved, improving its catalytic activity. The best catalyst, alpha-MnO2-60, showed significantly improved activity despite its lower specific surface area, highlighting the importance of surface oxygen vacancies in catalytic activity. This work offers insights for rational design of efficient VOCs catalysts.

Design of High-Performance Iron-Niobium Composite Oxide Catalysts for NH3-SCR: Insights into the Interaction between Fe and Nb

Wenshuo Zhang et al.

Summary: A series of iron-niobium composite oxides prepared with the assistance of CTAB exhibited superior SCR performance, with strong interaction between Fe and Nb promoting the formation of gamma-Fe2O3 and enhancing reducibility of iron at low temperatures. This resulted in higher surface acidity and more active sites on the catalyst, leading to increased NOx conversion during the NH3-SCR reaction.
