Inhibition effect of imidazolium-based ionic liquids on pyrophorisity of FeS

Yawen Li et al.

Summary: In this study, four ionic liquids were used to treat FeS, the main component of sulfur corrosion products, in order to explore their inhibition effect on the pyrophoricity. The microstructure of the samples was characterized by a scanning electron microscope, and the spontaneous combustion process and specific heat capacity changes were analyzed. The results showed that the ionic liquids had different degrees of inhibition effect, with [BMIM][I] having the most significant effect.

THERMODYNAMIC MODEL AND KINETIC COMPENSATION EFFECT OF OIL SLUDGE PYROLYSIS BASED ON THERMOGRAVIMETRIC ANALYSIS

Hui Liu et al.

Summary: This study conducted pyrolysis experiments on oil sludge and found that high heating rates can promote the pyrolysis process. The thermodynamic models for the four oil sludge samples were all 3-D diffusion models. The research provides theoretical support for the industrialization, harmlessness, and resource utilization of oil sludge pyrolysis.

Evaluation of the spontaneous combustion tendency of corrosion products in oil tanks based on TOPSIS methodologies

Hui Liu et al.

Summary: Thermogravimetry was used to obtain thermodynamic parameters of corrosion products in oil tanks, and then the CRITIC method was applied to calculate objective weights for evaluation indexes. The TOPSIS theory was used for comprehensive evaluation of the spontaneous combustion tendency. The results showed that the mass loss rate at the ignition point had the highest weight in determining spontaneous combustion tendency, and higher heating rates resulted in stronger tendencies for spontaneous combustion.

Adsorption and inhibition behavior of imidazolium tetrafluoroborate derivatives as green corrosion inhibitors for carbon steel

Guocai Tian et al.

Summary: The adsorption and inhibition mechanism of imidazole tetrafluoroborate derivatives for the corrosion inhibition of carbon steel in HCl solution was studied in detail using density functional theory, molecular dynamics simulation, and quantitative structure-activity relationship methods. The introduction of alkyl chain lengthening or methyl groups onto the imidazolium ring can increase the interaction between the ionic liquid and the Fe (110) surface, effectively reducing the density of corrosion particles on the surface. The influence of different substituents on the imidazolium ring and their effects on corrosion inhibition efficiency were analyzed, with [C12DMIM]BF4 showing the highest efficiency among the studied inhibitors.
