Oxidation characteristics and degradation potential of a dye-decolorizing peroxidase from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens for crystal violet dye

Yaru Zhang et al.

Summary: The study showed that Bacillus amyloliquefaciens BaDyP can efficiently degrade CV dye, with degradation products undergoing N-demethylation and cleavage of chromophore structure; BaDyP also exhibited high decolorization efficiency, making it suitable as a biocatalyst for dye treatment in wastewater.

Cloning, expression and biochemical characterization of lignin-degrading DyP-type peroxidase from Bacillus sp. Strain BL5

Sanam Islam Khan et al.

Summary: In this study, a DyP-type peroxidase gene was cloned from Bacillus sp. strain BL5, which exhibited broad temperature and pH activity range and showed lignin-degrading capabilities, making it an ideal bio-catalyst for remediation of lignin-contaminated sites. The recombinant enzyme DyPBL5 demonstrated high catalytic efficiency and lignin degradation rate, reducing lignin contents significantly and leading to the detection of various low molecular weight lignin degradation products through gas chromatography mass spectrometry. The SEM and FT-IR analysis of test samples indicated the degradation of lignin by DyPBL5.

Degradation of zearalenone and aflatoxin B1 by Lac2 from Pleurotus pulmonarius in the presence of mediators

Yanyi Song et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that the recombinant Lac2 laccase can efficiently degrade ZEN and AFB1, showing thermal stability and good stability under acidic and alkaline conditions. The Lac2 system with mediators ABTS and AS shows high efficiency in degrading ZEN, while the Lac2-AS system is the most effective in degrading AFB1.

Efficient Degradation of Zearalenone by Dye-Decolorizing Peroxidase from Streptomyces thermocarboxydus Combining Catalytic Properties of Manganese Peroxidase and Laccase

Xing Qin et al.

Summary: A novel mycotoxin-degrading enzyme StDyP was discovered in this study, which could degrade a certain amount of ZEN and combine the catalytic properties of manganese peroxidase and laccase to significantly accelerate the enzymatic degradation of ZEN. These findings may help improve the efficiency of mycotoxin degradation in food and feed.
