The Effects of Dietary Arthrospira platensis on Oxidative Stress Response and Pigmentation in Yellow Catfish Pelteobagrus fulvidraco

Cui Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of A. platensis on pigmentation, antioxidant capacity, and stress response in fish after air exposure. The results showed that A. platensis had no effect on fish growth but reduced lactic acid and cortisol levels caused by air exposure stress. It also increased antioxidant enzyme activities and protected against oxidative stress caused by air exposure.

Nrf2 pathway in vegetable oil-induced inflammation of large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea)

Peng Tan et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects and regulation of dietary vegetable oil on the Nrf2 and NF-kappa B pathways in large yellow croaker. The results showed that the vegetable oil diet decreased antioxidant capacity and induced inflammatory responses in the fish. Knockdown of the Nrf2 gene affected the anti-inflammatory effect of fatty acids. Overall, the study suggests that dietary vegetable oil can affect antioxidant and inflammatory pathways in fish.

Expression and functional analysis of the BCL2-Associated agonist of cell death (BAD) gene in grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) during bacterial infection

Zhijie Lu et al.

Summary: In this study, the BAD gene GcBAD1 was cloned and characterized for the first time in grass carp, showing widespread expression in various tissues and significant up-regulation during infection. Overexpression of GcBAD1 also activated apoptosis-related genes and played a role in the mitochondrial apoptosis pathway of grass carp's innate immunity.

Molecular and functional characterization of MST2 in grass carp during bacterial infection

Yanan Li et al.

Summary: In this study, the MST2 gene of grass carp was cloned and its tissue distribution was analyzed. CiMST2 was highly expressed in brain tissue and significantly up-regulated under bacterial infection, indicating its involvement in the immune response. CiMST2 regulated host redox homeostasis via Nrf2-ARE signaling, providing insights for disease prevention and control in the grass carp farming industry.
