Assessment of wild turmeric-based eco-friendly yellow natural bio-colorant for dyeing of wool fabric

Noman Habib et al.

Summary: The current study investigates the coloring effectiveness of a natural yellowish colorant made from wild turmeric for wool dyeing under microwave treatment. The results show that using a specific aqueous extract combined with table salt as an exhausting agent at a certain temperature and duration can achieve outstanding color depth on microwave-treated wool fabric. The addition of biomordants and metal salts before and after dyeing can further enhance colorfastness. Overall, the combination of microwave treatment and biomordants offers a more sustainable approach to wool dyeing.

The dyeability and after-dyeing wearability of TPU-based 3D-printed fabrics

Zhaoling Sun et al.

Summary: This study explores the dyeing process of 3DP fabrics using thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and Disperse Blue 2BLN, as well as the wearability of the fabrics before and after dyeing. The findings indicate that the wearability of the fabric after dyeing is not affected compared to before dyeing, and the colorfastness is high.

Adsorption study of lac dyes with chitosan coated on silk fibroin using molecular dynamics simulations

Aunlika Chimprasit et al.

Summary: This study investigated how chitosan can enhance the binding of lac dyes on silk, resulting in improved uptake of the dyes. The results suggest that the attractive interaction between silk and chitosan plays a key role in this enhancement, providing insights for understanding and improving the fastness properties of textiles.
