Application of Fluorescence Spectroscopy in Indigo Reduction Process : Identification of Reduction Stages and Reduced Indigo Concentration

Chanhee Jung et al.

Summary: This study traced the stages of indigo reduction and evaluated the concentration of reduced indigo using fluorescence spectroscopy. The results showed that the excitation and emission wavelengths changed during the reduction process, and the peak disappeared while new absorbance increase was observed. Additionally, the fluorescence intensity was found to be linearly proportional to the concentration of reduced indigo.
