A new nonlinear stochastic volatility model with regime switching stochastic mean reversion and its applications to option pricing

Xin-Jiang He et al.

Summary: We propose a new nonlinear stochastic volatility model that incorporates regime switching to capture the empirical evidence of economic cycles and nonlinear volatility mean-reversion observed in market data. We derive a closed-form solution for valuing European options using the characteristic function approach and provide numerical examples comparing models with and without regime switching.

Two-factor Heston model equipped with regime-switching: American option pricing and model calibration by Levenberg-Marquardt optimization algorithm

Farshid Mehrdoust et al.

Summary: This paper considers the pricing of American options under a regime-switching double Heston model. A semi-analytical formula for the double Heston partial differential equation is developed using the equivalent European put option price and standard portfolio-consumption model. The American put option price is then evaluated through the moment-generating function of this particular model. The Levenberg-Marquardt optimization method is employed to calibrate the regime-switching double Heston model. Numerical experiments demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed formula and the performance of the regime change mechanism on option pricing. An experimental application indicates the superiority of the proposed model over the double Heston model, highlighting the importance of considering regime-switching factors.

Analytical approximation of European option prices under a new two-factor non-affine stochastic volatility model

Shou-de Huang et al.

Summary: This paper studies the pricing of European options under a new two-factor non-affine stochastic volatility model. An analytical approximation formula for European option prices is derived using Taylor expansion and Fourier-cosine method to reduce computational complexity. Numerical experiments show that the proposed formula is fast and efficient compared to Monte Carlo simulations. Sensitivity analysis of the parameters is conducted to explain the rationality of the model. Finally, preliminary empirical analysis demonstrates that the pricing performance of the proposed model is superior to that of the single-factor model.

Pricing foreign exchange options under a hybrid Heston-Cox-Ingersoll-Ross model with regime switching

Xin-Jiang He et al.

Summary: This paper considers the pricing of foreign exchange options under a modified Heston-Cox-Ingersoll-Ross hybrid model, which includes regime switching in key parameters. A closed-form pricing formula for foreign exchange options is derived and its performance is shown through numerical experiments. An empirical study suggests that this new model is a good alternative to the Heston-Cox-Ingersoll-Ross model for practical purposes.

A closed-form pricing formula for European options under a new stochastic volatility model with a stochastic long-term mean

Xin-Jiang He et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new stochastic volatility model with a stochastic long-term mean to better describe the term structure of implied volatility and variance swap curve. Through numerical comparison and empirical study, it is shown that the new model can lead to more accurate option prices compared to the Heston model.

Forward price and fitting of electricity Nord Pool market under regime-switching two-factor model

Farshid Mehrdoust et al.

Summary: This article investigates the jump in electricity prices, attributing it to shocks in electricity demand or supply. The authors propose a regime switching model to model electricity spot price dynamics using the chain itself and methods like Esscher transform. They apply expectation maximization algorithm to estimate model parameters and calibrate the model using real data from the Nord Pool market.

A generalized antithetic variates Monte-Carlo simulation method for pricing of Asian option in a Markov regime-switching model

Idin Noorani et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new regime-switching model where the volatility depends on asset prices, and interest rate and volatility are associated with regime changes. By deriving an equivalent martingale measure, the pricing of an arithmetic Asian option is achieved, along with proposing an efficient Monte-Carlo simulation method based on generating K-correlated standard normal random vectors. Numerical experiments confirm the success of this method in pricing arithmetic Asian options.
