Stepper-Based Training Improves Monocyte-Platelet Aggregation and Thrombin Generation in Nonambulatory Hemiplegic Patients

Shu-Chun Huang et al.

Summary: The study found that stepper-based exercise training can improve cardiopulmonary fitness in nonambulatory hemiplegic patients with ischemic stroke and reduce heteroaggregation of monocytes with platelets. This research provides new possibilities for the rehabilitation of nonambulatory hemiplegic patients.

Cycling Exercise Training Enhances Platelet Mitochondrial Bioenergetics in Patients with Peripheral Arterial Disease: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Ming-Lu Lin et al.

Summary: In this study, cycling exercise training significantly improved systemic aerobic capacity, platelet mitochondrial bioenergetics, and exercise capacity in patients with PAD. These improvements also led to an enhancement in health-related quality of life.

Individual Differences in Response to Supervised Exercise Therapy for Peripheral Artery Disease

Mary O. Whipple et al.

Summary: The study found that in older adults undergoing 12 weeks of supervised exercise therapy for peripheral artery disease, about one-third showed nonresponse to exercise, while over four in ten exhibited poor response. Most participants improved in at least one aspect, but only a small number improved in all measured outcomes.
