Tricuspid Regurgitation Related Mortality in United States, 1999-2019

Talha Ahmed et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the long-term mortality due to tricuspid regurgitation (TR) in the United States and demographic disparities in TR-related mortality. The results suggest that TR-related deaths in the US may have increased over the last 20 years, highlighting the need for greater focus on timely diagnosis and management of TR.

Right ventricle-pulmonary artery coupling in repaired tetralogy of Fallot with pulmonary regurgitation: Clinical implications

Elena Panaioli et al.

Summary: This study assessed the differences in right ventricle-pulmonary artery (RV-PA) coupling in patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot (rToF) with pulmonary regurgitation. The results showed that despite normal right ventricular systolic function, patients with an indication for pulmonary valve replacement (PVR) had worse RV-PA coupling. This could be a sensitive marker of a progressive maladaptive right ventricular response to long-standing volume overload.

Development and validation of an echocardiographic algorithm to predict long-term mitral and tricuspid regurgitation progression

Jordan B. Strom et al.

Summary: The study found that TTE parameters can be used to predict the progression of mitral and tricuspid regurgitation, helping to identify high-risk patients and personalize management. In external validation, the score demonstrated good performance and proved to be an effective tool for predicting long-term MR/TR progression.

Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics-2021 Update A Report From the American Heart Association

Salim S. Virani et al.

Summary: The American Heart Association, in partnership with the National Institutes of Health, publishes annual statistics on heart disease, stroke, and cardiovascular risk factors, including the impact of health behaviors and factors on cardiovascular health. The Statistical Update covers a range of clinical heart and circulatory conditions, providing data on quality of care, procedures, and economic costs. It serves as a critical resource for various stakeholders seeking the best available data on these factors and conditions.
