Enhanced Fenton-like process via interfacial electron donating of pollutants over in situ Cobalt-doped graphitic carbon nitride

Resin-based photo-self-Fenton system with intensive mineralization by the synergistic effect of holes and hydroxyl radicals

Summary: In this study, a hydrogen peroxide-free resin photo-Fenton system was developed for efficient degradation of organic pollutants. The system exhibited excellent performance due to the synergistic effect of hydroxyl radicals and holes, resulting in significantly higher degradation rates compared to other systems. The high performance was mainly attributed to the reduction of iron ions by electrons and increased utilization of hydrogen peroxide, as well as the prevention of macromolecular polymer intermediates, leading to high mineralization efficiency. This finding offers a promising route for eco-friendly and efficient wastewater treatment using visible-light photo-self-Fenton systems.

Unravelling intramolecular charge transfer in donor-acceptor structured g-C3N4 for superior photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Summary: The incorporation of 2-aminobenzothiazole (ABT) into the g-C3N4 framework led to the synthesis of a series of D-A structured photocatalysts with improved performance. The enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution was attributed to the broadened visible light absorption range and accelerated charge carrier separation due to ultrafast intramolecular charge transfer. The boosted performance is closely related to the deliberately introduced D-A structure, which may offer insights for designing analogues with better photocatalytic hydrogen evolution performance.
