A mixed generalized Poisson INAR model with applications

Jie Huang et al.

Summary: A mixed integer-valued autoregressive model is able to capture structural changes, which inspired the authors to propose a mixed generalized Poisson integer-valued autoregressive model with quasi-binomial and generalized Poisson thinning operators. The properties of the mixed models are presented, and the parameters of the proposed model are estimated using conditional maximum likelihood estimation. The mean, median, and mode of the conditional distribution are used for one-step-ahead prediction. Additionally, an approximate Bayesian model averaging prediction with the Bayesian information criterion is introduced for higher-order models applied to real data. Monte Carlo simulation results are presented to assess the performance of parameter estimation and forecasting methods. Real data applications of the proposed models are also provided for illustrative purposes.

Zero-and-one inflated Poisson-Lindley INAR(1) process for modelling count time series with extra zeros and ones

Z. Mohammadi et al.

Summary: This paper presents a first-order integer-valued autoregressive (INAR(1)) model with zero-and-one inflated Poisson-Lindley distributed innovations. It shows that the model represents a mixture of zero-and-one inflated geometric INAR(1) process and zero-and-one inflated negative binomial INAR(1) process. Basic and conditional properties of the model are obtained, and the distribution of the runs is investigated. Estimation methods are used to estimate the unknown parameters and the asymptotic properties of the estimators are obtained. The model is fitted to practical data using conditional maximum likelihood estimation method and validated by goodness-of-fit criteria.

A new INAR(1) process with bounded support for counts showing equidispersion, underdispersion and overdispersion

Yao Kang et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a new mixture INAR(1) model, which can handle various situations. Estimators of the model parameters are derived by the conditional maximum likelihood method, and the asymptotic properties of the estimators are studied. Applications to real data sets demonstrate the usefulness of the new model.
