Quantum kicked rotor and its variants: Chaos, localization and beyond

M. S. Santhanam et al.

Summary: The kicked rotor model is an important template for studying chaos and quantum chaos, with wide applications in nonlinear dynamics, quantum information, and other fields. Various problems can be addressed in the kicked rotor and its variants models, including complex system dynamics, resonant dynamics, and the relationship between quantum correlations and chaos.

Level Compressibility of Certain Random Unitary Matrices

Eugene Bogomolny

Summary: This paper analyzes the level compressibility of different random unitary matrices and successfully proves that the level compressibility of barrier billiards is always 1/2, regardless of the height and position of the barrier.

Many-body quantum chaos and space-time translational invariance

Amos Chan et al.

Summary: The effect of translational invariance in space and time on many-body quantum chaotic systems is studied using random quantum circuits. It is found that there are universal scaling laws describing the system, even without knowing the microscopic details. The emergence of random matrix theory behavior is delayed by translational invariance, which introduces additional mechanisms via novel Feynman diagrams.

Phenomenology of quantum eigenstates in mixed-type systems: Lemon billiards with complex phase space structure

Crt Lozej et al.

Summary: This paper investigates two classical and quantum mixed-type lemon billiards, analyzing their structural and localization properties. Regular states associated with invariant tori, chaotic states associated with classically chaotic regions, and mixed-type states were observed.

Quantum chaos in triangular billiards

Crt Lozej et al.

Summary: An extensive numerical study was conducted on the spectral statistics and eigenfunctions of quantized triangular billiards. Different cases of triangular billiards show varying degrees of agreement with the Gaussian orthogonal ensemble of random matrix theory, extending the quantum chaos conjecture to systems with dynamical mixing in the absence of hard chaos.

Spectral form factor in the double-scaled SYK model

Mikhail Khramtsov et al.

Summary: The note investigates the spectral form factor in the SYK model at infinite temperature in the large q limit, with analytical solutions for the slope and ramp regions. The onset of ramp behavior is found to occur at the Thouless time of order q log q, and the transition from slope to ramp is accompanied by the breakdown of the perturbative 1/q expansion.

Random Matrix Spectral Form Factor of Dual-Unitary Quantum Circuits

Bruno Bertini et al.

Summary: This study examines a class of local quantum circuits with the 'dual unitarity' property, which generate unitary dynamics both in time and space propagation. It is found that the spectral form factor matches the prediction for a circular unitary ensemble in specific binary circuit configurations and their extensions after being perturbed by single-site random disturbances.

Universal spectral form factor for many-body localization

Abhishodh Prakash et al.

Summary: In this study, we theoretically investigated correlations deep in the spectrum of many-body-localized systems. We derived an exact analytical expression for the spectral form factor of Poisson spectra, which proved to be in good agreement with numerical results from two models exhibiting many-body localization. Additionally, we identified a universal regime that is insensitive to the global density of states and spectral edge effects.

Summary: The study of classical and quantum ergodic lemon billiard revealed nonuniversal properties such as chaotic yet localized eigenstates, asymmetric entropy localization distributions, and Berry-Robnik-Brody energy-level spacing distributions, showing distinctive features of the system.
