Fabrication of wormhole-like YSZ and Ni-YSZ by the novel soft-hard template CTAB/NaCl-assisted route. Suppressing Ni coalescence in SOFC

Patryk Blaszczak et al.

Summary: A novel one-pot synthesis route was developed to fabricate wormhole-like structures in porous YSZ and Ni-YSZ systems. This method achieved mechanically stable skeletons with nearly 50% open porosity without using additional pore-formers. The obtained Ni-YSZ anode demonstrated better long-term electrical stability and higher electrochemical activity due to the suppression of Ni structural changes and improved interfacial interaction with YSZ.

Direct Methanation of CO2in Biogas with Hydrogen from WaterElectrolysis: The Catalyst and System Efficiency

Liu Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a new methanation catalyst was designed for efficient CO2 utilization and upgrading of biogas. The system efficiency was evaluated considering a solid oxide electrolysis cell. The catalyst modification and optimization of the system increased the energy utilization efficiency and achieved a higher energy efficiency compared to methanation of separated CO2 from biogas.

Suppressing the Photocatalytic Activity of Titania by Precisely Controlled Silica Coating

Siraphat Jan Cheepborisutikul et al.

Summary: A thin and homogeneous silica layer was successfully deposited on anatase particles through hydrolysis and condensation, leading to densification after heat treatment. Repeated coating and heating procedures were found to slow down the photocatalytic decomposition of methylene blue, with a significantly reduced decomposition rate constant achieved after three times of coating and heating.
