Kinetic study of low-temperature sulfur dioxide removal reaction by sodium carbonate using random pore model

Iman Omidi Bibalani et al.

Summary: The experimental and mathematical modeling study investigated the kinetics of low-temperature SO2 removal reaction by porous sodium carbonate. The results showed that the reaction rate and activation energy were significantly influenced by temperature. Under different conditions, the model predictions were in good agreement with experimental data.

Numerical simulation and optimization of semi-dry flue gas desulfurization in a CFB based on the two-film theory using response surface methodology

Li Cai et al.

Summary: This study proposed a simplified desulfurization model based on the two-film theory for semi-dry circulating fluidized bed flue gas desulfurization (CFB-FGD). By simulating the effects of different parameters on desulfurization efficiency and applying response surface methodology (RSM), the optimal operating parameters were determined, resulting in a desulfurization efficiency of 99.69%.

Experimental study on the separation performance of an enhanced cyclone with shunt device

Yuanbo Zheng et al.

Summary: An enhanced cyclone with shunt device (ECSD) is proposed to remove coarse particles from the air continuously. The experimental results show that the separation efficiency of the ECSD is higher than that of a traditional cyclone, and continuous particle separation can be realized. Furthermore, the ECSD still exhibits high separation efficiency for particles less than 1 μm.

An experimental study on the feasibility of in-situ desulfurization performance in a CFB combustor co-burning red mud and coal

Jin Yan et al.

Summary: Red mud, as a hazardous waste, can be used for in-situ desulfurization in fluidized bed combustion with high efficiency under certain operating conditions, showing feasibility. Additionally, the amount of red mud added has effects on combustion stability, carbon content, SO2, and NOx emissions.

The Influence of SO2 and HCl Concentrations on the Consumption of Sodium Bicarbonate during Flue Gas Treatment

Boleslav Zach et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the competitive influence of SO2 and HCl during their removal from flue gas by sodium bicarbonate. Experimental results showed that higher concentrations of HCl make it more difficult to achieve the selected target concentration of SO2 in clean flue gas. Regression models found in the study can be used for predicting and optimizing the behavior of flue gas treatment systems.

Effect of Ca-based additives on the capture of SO2 during combustion of pulverized lignite

Wojciech Zacharczuk et al.

Summary: The study found that adding calcium to lignite during combustion effectively suppressed the emission of SO2, with sulfur capture efficiency increasing with temperature. In addition, some inherent inorganic species in lignite, especially calcium, were also found to reduce SO2 pollution during combustion.
