P2P Multigrade Energy Trading for Heterogeneous Distributed Energy Resources and Flexible Demand

Jiayong Li et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel peer-to-peer multi-grade energy trading design that encourages flexible demand side participation in order to absorb the uncertainty of renewable distributed energy resources (DERs) in distribution networks. The authors develop a reliability credit assignment method to differentiate energy grades based on DER reliability and customer preferences. They introduce an innovative P2P multi-grade energy trading model that matches different types of demand with corresponding energy grades. The market clearing is formulated as a social welfare maximization problem, considering customer utilities and DER producer profits. The authors also develop a fast decentralized pricing algorithm that achieves maximum social welfare while preserving privacy.

Energy Trading and Power Allocation Strategies for Relay-Assisted Smart Grid Communications: A Three-Stage Game Approach

Jie Yang et al.

Summary: In the smart grid, the Utilities purchase relay service from telecom operators to improve communication quality and reduce costs. Additionally, surplus energy from retail customers is collected by energy supply points, which are compensated by telecom operators for continuous energy supply. A three-stage game method and system model are established to analyze relay power allocation and energy transaction pricing strategies in response to real-time changes in energy demand.

Pricing and Energy Trading in Peer-to-Peer Zero Marginal-Cost Microgrids

Jonathan T. Lee et al.

Summary: This paper contributes to the exploration of peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading in community microgrids. It presents an analysis of optimal pricing and allocations in a centralized economic dispatch and proposes a novel P2P algorithm for negotiating energy trades, which produces physically feasible and Pareto-optimal outcomes. The numerical simulations show that the algorithm converges to the social optimum with a small margin of error.

Energy Trading in Local Electricity Market With Renewables-A Contract Theoretic Approach

Uzma Amin et al.

Summary: This article focuses on the challenges brought by emerging smart grid technologies and increased penetration of renewable energy sources to the power sector, introducing a new contract theoretic framework and dynamic pricing scheme to design optimal contracts for energy trading. The study shows that the trading strategy under a baseload scenario is feasible, while the strategy for a peak load scenario is complex and requires consideration of various factors. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme for energy trading in the local electricity market.
