Highly efficient near-infrared thermally activated delayed fluorescence material based on a spirobifluorene decorated donor

Jing-Feng Liu et al.

Summary: The newly synthesized NIR TADF emitter, SDPA-APDC, showed high PLQY, narrow bandgap, small LEST, and excellent thermal stability. When used in electroluminescence devices, doped devices achieved a red emission peak at 696 nm with a maximum EQE of 10.75%, while non-doped devices exhibited a NIR emission peak at 782 nm with a maximum EQE of 2.55%.

Efficient Solution-Processed Hyperfluorescent OLEDs with Spectrally Narrow Emission at 840 nm

Afshin Shahalizad et al.

Summary: Efficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are crucial for cost reduction and environmental sustainability. This study demonstrates the use of a thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) material as an assistant dopant to achieve pure NIR-emitting fluorescent OLEDs with an external quantum efficiency of up to 3.8%, showing more than three times higher efficiency than previously reported products in this spectral range.
