Extended visible light driven photocatalytic hydrogen generation by electron induction from g-C3N4 nanosheets to ZnO through the proper heterojunction

Amir Zada et al.

Summary: The study fabricated ZnO/g-C3N4 nanocomposites for photocatalytic hydrogen generation under visible light illumination, showing significantly improved hydrogen production performance of the optimized nanocomposites without the need for cocatalysts. The enhanced photoactivity was attributed to improved charge separation through the heterojunction, as confirmed by various characterization techniques.

Physiochemical evaluations, mechanical attenuations and thermal stability of graphene nanosheets and functionalized nanodiamonds loaded pitch derived carbon foam composites

Muhammad Khan et al.

Summary: This work investigates the synergistic effects of graphene nanosheets and functionalized nanodiamonds on the properties of carbon foam composites. The addition of these additives significantly improves the structure and morphology of the composites, as well as their electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties. Among the composite samples studied, the CF/GNS-FND hybrid composites exhibit the highest in-plane electrical and thermal conductivities, as well as compressive strength and Young's modulus.

Pt/Fe/Ni decorated CVD grown CNTs on carbon paper as electrocatalytic electrodes in polymer fuel cells: An investigation on H2 gas on the growth of CNTs and reduction of electrocatalysts

Hajar Rajaei Litkohi et al.

Summary: The study investigated the in-situ synthesis of CNTs on carbon paper as electrocatalyst support at PEM fuel cell, with a focus on the role of hydrogen gas. Experiments showed that the presence or absence of hydrogen gas during synthesis significantly affects the structure and defect density of CNTs. Optimal flow ratios were determined for successful synthesis of CNTs on CP, leading to high specific surface area and superhydrophobicity. When used as support for PEM fuel cell cathode, CNT/CP showed improved performance, especially when hydrogen gas was present during metal catalyst reduction.

Design of new anodic bimetallic nanocatalyst composed of Ni-Cu supported by reduced carbon quantum dots for the methanol oxidation reaction

Hakimeh Javan et al.

Summary: The DMFC is an ideal fuel cell system that produces electric power by direct conversion of methanol fuel, with the main advantage of easy fuel transportation. In this study, Ni-Cu bimetallic nanoparticles were used as the catalyst on the Ni-Cu/RCQDs/GCE electrode, showing high peak current density and low charge transfer resistance for methanol electro-oxidation compared to other catalysts.
