Spatial Environment Affects HNF4A Mutation-Specific Proteome Signatures and Cellular Morphology in hiPSC-Derived β-Like Cells

Manuel Carrasco et al.

Summary: Studies of monogenic diabetes are valuable to understand the molecular events of pancreatic beta-cell failure. In this study, hiPSC-derived pancreatic beta-like cells were used in two different 3D contexts to successfully detect mutation-specific phenotypes of MODY1. The findings provide new knowledge on the function of HNF4A and contribute to the development of precision diabetes medicine.
