In Situ XAS Investigation of K4Fe(CN)6•xH2O and K3Fe(CN)6 Redox Activity in Solid-State Supercapacitors

Azzam N. Mansour et al.

Summary: In this study, the redox activity of commercially obtained K4Fe(CN)(6)center dot xH(2)O and K3Fe(CN)(6) in solid-state supercapacitors was examined using cyclic voltammetry and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The results showed that K4Fe(CN)(6)center dot xH(2)O was stable, while Fe(III) in K3Fe(CN)(6) was reduced to Fe(II) during electrode synthesis. Based on the XANES data, approximately 50% of the Fe in both K4Fe(CN)(6)center dot xH(2)O and the reduced form of K3Fe(CN)(6) underwent oxidation-reduction reactions during electrochemical cycling.

Efficient extraction of Rb+ and Cs+ by a precipitation flotation process with ammonium phosphowolframate as precipitant

Dezhen Fang et al.

Summary: The research investigates the precipitation flotation process for Rb+ and Cs+ extraction using ammonium phosphowolframate and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, achieving an extraction efficiency of almost 100% under optimized conditions. DFT calculations and IGM reveal non-covalent interactions involved in the extraction process, while analysis of the flotation mechanism shows electrostatic attraction as the main force. This method shows great potential for Rb+ and Cs+ separation in salt lake brine treatment.
