Mechanical Properties and Bond Strength of Additively Manufactured and Milled Dental Zirconia: A Pilot Study

Nurten Baysal et al.

Summary: This study evaluated and compared the mechanical properties and ceramic bond of additively manufactured and milled dental zirconia materials. The results showed that the additively manufactured zirconia material had lower microhardness and flexural strength compared to the milled zirconia material, but demonstrated adequate bond strength with dental ceramic.

Fracture Resistance of Sintered Monolithic Zirconia Dioxide in Different Thermal Units

Andrea Ordonez Balladares et al.

Summary: This study compared the fracture strength of monolithic zirconium dioxide sintered in two different furnaces. The results showed no significant differences in mechanical strength between the two groups, suggesting that rapid sintering can save time without affecting the material's strength, but it has limited reliability.

Anomalous matrix and interlayer pore structure of 3D-printed fiber-reinforced cementitious composites

Rijiao Yang et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that the addition of glass microfibers into cementitious slurries can result in an anomalous pore structure in fiber-reinforced cementitious composites (FRCC), but has limited benefits to the mechanical strength.

Anomalous matrix and interlayer pore structure of 3D-printed fiber-reinforced cementitious composites

Rijiao Yang et al.

Summary: This study shows that adding glass microfibers to cementitious slurries can lead to an anomalous pore structure and changes in the interlayer between fibers. However, limited addition of glass microfibers has no significant impact on the bending and compressive strength of FRCC materials.

Effect of solid loading on properties of zirconia ceramic by direct ink writing

Xiaoguang Xia et al.

Summary: High solid loading water-based zirconia slurries for direct ink writing were successfully prepared in this study, with the investigation on their printability and sintering properties. Increasing the solid loading of zirconia significantly improved the densification and strength of the sintered zirconia ceramic specimens.

A simple solution to recycle and reuse dental CAD/CAM zirconia block from its waste residuals

Hao Ding et al.

Summary: This study found that dental CAD/CAM zirconia can be recycled and reused from its waste residuals by adopting a simple method that requires pre-sintering at 950 or 1000 degrees Celsius. Pre-sintering at these temperatures resulted in recycled zirconia with similar properties to control samples, showing that it is a feasible and effective recycling method.
