Simulation of canola seedling emergence dynamics under different soil compaction levels using the discrete element method (DEM)

Hao Gong et al.

Summary: In this study, a model was developed to simulate the emergence process of canola seedlings under different soil compaction levels. The simulation results showed that the emergence force of the seedlings increased with the soil compaction level, but excessively high compaction levels resulted in low emergence rates for canola.
