Summary: In this study, carbon nanofiber flexible films with ultrafine V2O3 nanocrystals uniformly dispersed in the skeleton of nanofibers (V2O3/CNF) were designed and synthesized. The films exhibited excellent potassium storage performance, with outstanding cycling stability (98% retention after 2500 cycles at 1 A g(-1)) and excellent rate capacity (175 mA h g(-1) at 10 A g(-1)). The presence of oxygen-bridged (V-O-C) bonds in the carbon nanofibers provided abundant electrochemically active sites and effectively prevented agglomeration-induced volume expansion.

The electrode based on the multi-heterostructure maintains a capacity of approximately 200 mAh g(-1) over repeated 2000 cycles at 1 A g(-1), showing great promise for flexible electronic devices.

Robust carbon nanotube-interwoven KFeSO4F microspheres as reliable potassium cathodes

Summary: Orthorhombic iron-based fluorosulfate KFeSO4F is a promising cathode material for potassium-ion batteries due to its high capacity, voltage plateau, and unique potassium ion conduction pathway. However, its poor thermostability and low electronic conductivity present challenges for its synthesis and electrochemical performance. In this study, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were introduced into KFeSO4F microspheres to enhance their electronic conductivity and create high-performance potassium-ion batteries. The KFSF@CNTs/DEG cathode exhibited excellent reversible capacity, high working voltage, and long-term capacity retention. The results demonstrated that the addition of CNTs and the use of diethylene glycol (DEG) contributed to the improved electrochemical performance of KFSF@CNTs/DEG through the formation of microspheres with interwoven CNTs and enhanced structural stability and potassium ion diffusion rate.

High-rate and dendrite-free liquid alloy anode for high energy potassium metal batteries

Moreover, as an anode for hybrid potassium-ion capacitors (KICs), Mo2C/NCNFs deliver a high energy/power density of 88.2 Wh kg-1/629.9 W kg-1, with excellent capacity retention of about 80.4% after 1000 cycles. The versatile strategy, excellent cycling stability, and ultra-robust flexibility make Mo2C/NCNFs a great prospect for application in the field of alkali metal ion batteries, electrocatalysts, and flexible wearable devices.
