Jiabiao Zou et al.

Summary: This study investigates the conformational effect in the low-temperature oxidation of methylcyclohexane (MCH) and develops a MCH oxidation model with conformation-dependent pathways. The results show that considering the conformational effects of the cyclohexane ring and sidechain improves the prediction of species profiles and ignition delay time under low-T conditions.

Numerical investigation of multi-component droplet evaporation and autoignition for aero-engine applications

Daniel Fredrich et al.

Summary: This study numerically investigates the evaporation and autoignition behavior of a three-component kerosene surrogate under various operating conditions. The results show that gas temperature affects preferential evaporation and droplet composition, while pressure and dilution level have a significant impact on autoignition. Droplet preheating can be used as a design parameter to control autoignition delay time.

Chemistry deriving from OOQOOH radicals in alkane low-temperature oxidation: A first combined theoretical and electron-ion coincidence mass spectrometry study

Frederique Battin-Leclerc et al.

Summary: The heavy oxygenated products produced during alkane oxidation were investigated using electron/ion coincidence mass spectrometry, identifying ketohydroperoxides and diones. Fragmentation difficulties hindered the identification of ketohydroperoxides in lower amounts, while new information on C-5 ketohydroperoxide fragmentation pathways was provided. Fragmentation effects were found to significantly reduce the deviation between experiments and modeling for ketohydroperoxide mole fractions.

Effects of CH4 mixing on the laminar burning velocity and Markstein length of RP-3/air premixed flame

Yu Liu et al.

Summary: Experiments investigated the effects of initial temperature, pressure, and CH4 mixing ratio on the laminar burning velocity and structure of CH4/RP-3/air mixture. Results showed that increased initial pressure led to cellular structures in flames, while maximum laminar burning velocity was observed in slightly rich mixtures. Increasing initial temperature and decreasing pressure contributed to higher peak laminar burning velocity.
