Impaired Interhemispheric Synchrony in Parkinson's Disease with Fatigue

Yong-Sheng Yuan et al.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the changes in interhemispheric resting-state functional connectivity (FC) in Parkinson's disease (PD) patients with fatigue. The results showed that PD patients with fatigue had decreased connectivity values in the supramarginal gyri (SMG) compared to PD patients without fatigue and healthy controls. Furthermore, the connectivity values in the SMG were negatively correlated with fatigue severity scores. These findings may contribute to the understanding of the neural mechanisms of fatigue in PD.

Neural distinctiveness of fatigue and low sleep quality in multiple sclerosis

Adriana L. Ruiz-Rizzo et al.

Summary: This study investigates the associations between fatigue, low sleep quality, and brain's functional connectivity (FC) in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. The findings suggest that fatigue and low sleep quality are associated with decreased FC in sensorimotor, default-mode, and fronto-parietal networks, indicating distinct neural mechanisms for these symptoms in MS.
