Peptide Vaccine Against ADAMTS-7 Ameliorates Atherosclerosis and Postinjury Neointima Hyperplasia

Zihan Ma et al.

Summary: This study designed three potential vaccines to inhibit atherosclerosis. Among them, ATS7vac vaccine was found to effectively inhibit intimal thickening and restenosis in mice and pigs. The vaccine suppressed ADAMTS-7-mediated protein degradation, reduced smooth muscle cell migration, and promoted re-endothelialization.

Discovery and systematic characterization of risk variants and genes for coronary artery disease in over a million participants

Krishna G. Aragam et al.

Summary: This study identified and characterized over 250 risk loci for coronary artery disease (CAD) through a genome-wide association study, shedding light on the potential causal mechanisms for CAD. The research findings revealed the involvement of early developmental processes, cell cycle signaling, and vascular cell migration and proliferation in the pathogenesis of CAD.
