Noble-gas compounds: A general procedure of bonding analysis

Stefano Borocci et al.

Summary: This paper presents a general procedure for bonding analysis in interactions involving noble-gas atoms, providing a comprehensive method for studying noble-gas compounds by classifying and evaluating the covalent contribution of different types of bonds based on the topology and electron energy density.

Spectral Signatures of Protonated Noble Gas Clusters of Ne, Ar, Kr, and Xe: From Monomers to Trimers

Jake A. Tan et al.

Summary: In this study, the structures and spectral features of protonated noble gas clusters were investigated using a first principles approach. It was found that protonated noble gas monomers and dimers have a linear structure, while the trimers can have a T-shaped or linear structure. Additionally, interesting spectral features such as progression bands and Fermi resonance interactions were observed.

Quantum Inelastic Scattering of ArHAr+, HeHHe+, and NeHNe+ with He on New Potential Energy Surfaces

Otoniel Denis-Alpizar et al.

Summary: In this study, potential energy surfaces (PESs) were developed for the HeHHe+ + He, ArHAr+ + He, and NeHNe+ + He complexes and their collision dynamics were studied. It was found that rotational de-excitations of diatomic systems are more efficient than with triatomic systems.

On the Proton-Bound Noble Gas Dimers (Ng-H-Ng)+ and (Ng-H-Ng')+ (Ng, Ng' = He-Xe): Relationships between Structure, Stability, and Bonding Character

Stefano Borocci et al.

Summary: The research explored the structure, stability, and bonding character of fifteen (Ng-H-Ng)(+) and (Ng-H-Ng')(+) compounds using theoretical calculations. The variations in bond distances and dissociation energies were nicely correlated with the bonding situations, illustrating the peculiar capability of noble gases to undergo interactions covering the entire spectrum of the chemical bond.

Dynamics of HeHHe+ Rotational State Changes Induced by Collision with He: A Possible New Path in Early Universe Chemistry

L. Gonzalez-Sanchez et al.

Summary: Ab initio calculations are used to generate the rigid rotor potential energy surface describing the interaction of HeHHe+ with He atom, investigating the efficiency of rotational state-changing collisions under early universe conditions. The inelastic rate coefficients are found to be large and compared with those of HeH+ polar molecule. The possibility of this cation providing new energy dissipation routes after recombination era in early universe conditions is briefly discussed.
