Enhanced SO2 resistance of V2O5/WO3-TiO2 catalyst physically mixed with alumina for the selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3

Se Won Jeon et al.

Summary: In this study, a hybrid catalyst was introduced, which exhibited better stability and sulfur tolerance during SO2 aging. The hybrid catalyst achieved the direct migration of ammonium bisulfate from the vanadia domain to the alumina domain through physical contact, rather than gas-phase adsorption. The surface properties of the mixed alumina played an important role in its affinity to ammonium bisulfate and reusability.

Effects of Support and CO2 on the Performances of Vanadium Oxide-Based Catalysts in Propane Dehydrogenation

Yu-Ling Shan et al.

Summary: In this study, the effects of support and CO were investigated on the intrinsic activity of vanadium oxide-based catalysts. It was found that the activity of VOx varied significantly with oxide supports, with ZrO2 support showing the highest activity. The study also revealed the importance of the chemical states of bridge oxygen in the V-O bond in propane activation.

Conquering ammonium bisulfate poison over low-temperature NH3-SCR catalysts: A critical review

Kai Guo et al.

Summary: This review focuses on recent progress in controlling ABS deposition/decomposition during the NH3-SCR process for sustainable denitration. It covers the physicochemical properties of ABS, common methods for analyzing ABS on catalyst surfaces, strategies for restraining ABS formation and accelerating ABS decomposition, as well as suggestions for future research on ABS poisoning. The review aims to provide guidance for designing NH3-SCR catalysts with high tolerance to ABS poisoning.

Simple physical mixing of zeolite prevents sulfur deactivation of vanadia catalysts for NOx removal

Inhak Song et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates that physically mixed H-Y zeolite can protect vanadium active sites effectively by trapping ABS in micropores, enabling the catalyst to operate stably at low temperatures and maintaining sulfur resistance during repeated aging/regeneration cycles. The pore structure and framework Al content of different zeolites play a crucial role in determining the trapping ability.

MoO3/TiO2 catalyst with atomically dispersed O-Mo-O structures toward improving NH4HSO4 poisoning resistance for selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides

Sufeng Guo et al.

Summary: This study explores the use of MoO3/TiO2 catalyst as an efficient NH3-SCR catalyst, highly resistant to ABS poisoning, showing lower SO2 oxidation rate and easier ABS decomposition compared to commercial V2O5-WO3/TiO2 catalyst.
