Eu3+Single-Doped Phosphor with Antithermal Quenching Behavior and Multicolor-Tunable Properties for Luminescence Thermometry

Xinyang Shi et al.

Summary: In this study, Eu3+ single-doped Ca2Sb2O7:Eu3+ phosphors with high relative sensitivity (Sr) were developed for dual-emitting-center luminescence thermometry. The anti-thermal quenching behavior of Eu3+ originating from the energy transfer (ET) of host->Eu3+ was found and proved. Adjustable color emission from blue to orange was achieved. The developed phosphors are expected to be prospective candidates in luminescence thermometers and LED devices in various conditions due to their excellent performance in optical thermometry, color-tunable properties, and outstanding acid and alkali resistance for PDMS films.

Synergistic luminescent thermometer using co-doped Ca2GdSbO6:Mn4+/(Eu3+ or Sm3+) phosphors

Guixian Li et al.

Summary: Luminescent thermometers provide a non-contact method of probing temperature with high sensitivity and response speed at the nanoscale. By co-doping the highly temperature-sensitive Mn4+ and less-sensitive Eu3+ (or Sm3+) activators into a Ca2GdSbO6 matrix, an effective thermometer is formed.

Enhanced photoluminescence and energy transfer behavior in Ba3Lu4O9: Bi3+,Eu3+ for flexible lighting applications

Ziyao Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a color-tunable green-orange-emitting phosphor Ba3Lu4O9:Bi3+,Eu3+ was successfully prepared by introducing Bi3+ and Eu3+ into the host lattice. The emission spectra cover the whole visible region and show typical emissions from both Bi3+ and Eu3+, with the emitting color being tunable. Energy transfer behavior in the phosphor was confirmed, resulting in improved emission intensity of Eu3+. Moreover, composite films made with the phosphor show promising potential for near-UV pumped lighting and flexible devices.
