Biological evaluation, proposed molecular mechanism through docking and molecular dynamic simulation of derivatives of chitosan

Rahime Eshaghi Malekshah et al.

Summary: In this study, Schiff base and its complexes derivatives of chitosan were synthesized to develop antibiotic compounds against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Various techniques were employed to characterize the chemical structures and properties of these compounds. Antibacterial studies indicated enhanced antibacterial activities of Schiff base and its complexes against S. aureus bacteria. Moreover, computational strategies revealed the selective affinity of Schiff base towards ENRs and saFabI.

Antibacterial Activity and Drug Loading of Moxifloxacin-Loaded Poly(Vinyl Alcohol)/Chitosan Electrospun Nanofibers

Qi Liu et al.

Summary: Nanofibers with different ratios of poly(vinyl alcohol) and chitosan incorporated with moxifloxacin hydrochloride were fabricated using blending electrospinning, showing good antibacterial properties against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The proportions of PVA and CS have a certain effect on the antibacterial activity of nanofibers, indicating the great potential of MH/PVA/CS composite nanofibers in antibacterial materials.
