A stretchable and self-healing ionic artificial muscle modified by conductive substances

Summary: In this study, a stretchable, self-healing ionic electroactive polymer (PAST-iEAPs) was developed by incorporating cassava starch to improve its mechanical properties. The modified PAST-iEAPs exhibited good tensile strength and self-healing efficiency, and showed excellent electromechanical performance. This work demonstrates the great potential of PAST-iEAPs in the research fields of soft robots and biomedical devices.
