Charge storage kinetics of MoS2 flower decorated reduced graphene oxide for quasi solid-state symmetric supercapacitor

Deependra Jhankal et al.

Summary: In this study, micro flower-like molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) was grown on reduced graphene oxide (rGO) sheets using a one-pot hydrothermal strategy. The MoS2 flowers were uniformly distributed on the rGO sheets. The MoS2-rGO (1:2) composition showed the highest capacitance of 352 F g(-1) at a current density of 0.2 A g(-1). Three symmetric supercapacitor devices were fabricated using the MoS2-rGO composites as the active material, demonstrating improved electrochemical performance.

Ultra-thin highly-wrinkled graphene-like nanosheets for supercapacitor electrodes via 4-nitrocatechol and solvent-induced self-assembly

Yining Liang et al.

Summary: Ultra-thin wrinkled graphene-like nanosheets (GNs) were prepared via classical evaporation induced self-assembly (EISA) of 4-nitrocatechol as carbon precursor, followed by activation and calcination. The resulting GN-900 exhibited a specific capacitance of 367 F g-1 at 0.2 A g-1 and a rate capability of 228 F g-1 at 40 A g-1. Supercapacitors assembled with GN-900 showed specific energy densities of 11.5 Wh kg-1 at power densities of 89.8 W kg-1, with capacitance retention greater than 98% after 3000 cycles at 10A g-1. The materials prepared in this study demonstrated structural stability and favorable electrochemical performance for supercapacitor applications.
