Investigating the properties of jet grouting columns with fine-grained cement and silica fume

Murat Olgun et al.

Summary: Jet grouting columns were manufactured with different binder types and water/cement ratios, showing variations in compressive strength, tensile strength, and permeability. Fine-grained cement and OPC + 10% SF mixture exhibited the best performance in reducing voids and improving binding ability.

Effect of deep chemical mixing columns on properties of surrounding soft clay

Majid Bagherinia et al.

Summary: In this study, potassium hydroxide was used as a chemical additive to improve engineering properties of low-plasticity clay. The experimental study was conducted in two stages, analyzing the effects of different ratios of the additive and monitoring changes in properties in soft clay with deep-mixed columns. The results showed increased strength and pH values, and decreased water content near the columns with potassium hydroxide.

Additives optimization for expansive soil subgrade modification based on Taguchi grey relational analysis

Chijioke Christopher Ikeagwuani et al.

Summary: The Taguchi method was combined with Grey Relational Analysis to optimize additives for improving expansive soil subgrade. Results showed that the combination of these two methods led to the formation of cementation compounds, indicating the effectiveness of this approach in enhancing expansive soil conditions. Further statistical analysis using ANOVA highlighted the significance of the parameters in the study.
